One of the strategic cornerstones of the operation of both the Foundation and its individual organisational units is support for research-development and innovation.
How is this achieved?
• Our non-profit, informative, preparatory activities enable us to contribute to increasing the proportion of GDP channelled into companies’ R&D expenditure by supporting enterprises to promote their research-development activities.
• Through our connections in academia, higher education and industry, we have gained a clear perspective of national development strategies and a knowledge of logistics, quality assurance and environmental protection projects, in addition to domestic and international basic- and applied research.
Such relations and knowledge allow us to play an effective role in reconciling companies’ R&D needs with research practices in academia and higher education.
The Foundation’s practical R&D activities
Through our network of experts and our own competencies we have been carrying out research-development work, primarily in the fields of process- and organisation innovation, for almost four years now. Our references range from the food sector to the construction industry and the wholesale pharmaceutical trade, and the countless sectors in between, with development in mobile communication, the optimisation of logistics processes, the development of distribution models, competence-based HR- and organisational development and the optimisation of barrow capacities all being included amongst our topics.
We seek to help our partners formulate their specific R&D requirements with particular regard to the effective legal provisions and guarantees. Provided a topic meets the necessary research-development criteria companies may, in accordance with Act XC of 2003 pertaining to the Research and Technology Innovation Fund, utilise their innovation contribution.
Our labour of love…
Within the framework of the Innovation Award, in 2009 we established the Organisational Innovation Award - to be presented once a year in the Parliament building in the presence of the Hungarian President – to emphasise the importance of organisational innovation.
The Foundation as a patron of innovation…
The organisation carries out further sponsorship activities, namely, providing financial assistance for innovational awards and competitions, as well as providing the opportunity annually, within the framework of our scholarship programme, for two PhD students and three graduates to participate in the R&D work of the Public Foundation for the Development of Industry.
