The Public Foundation for the Development of Industry has been active in the economic-, research-development and innovational life of Hungary for twenty years now. The organisation has just launched its brand new image with our revamped up-to-date website design reflecting our efforts to continuously examine, evaluate and actualise ourselves, to strive to meet the demands change constantly require of us, and to ensure we are always at the cutting edge of our industry.
The bridging role which the Foundation plays between research-development and industry we do not consider to be simply our job but much rather our mission; but how should we understand this statement?
• through analysis of economic needs and our knowledge of tendering opportunities and national strategies, we act as an effective communication channel between public administration and enterprises
• our network of experts in itself constitutes a bridge playing an active role in corporate research-development; the knowledge thereby acquired may prove valuable in the course of the realisation of comprehensive development plans
• we cultivate relations with universities and colleges, as well as with academic circles, with these institutions facilitating in the collaboration between basic- and applied research, and corporate needs.
We support these endeavours through our membership of such international organisations as the European Policy Centre.
The Public Foundation for the Development of Industry considers the promotion of innovation activities within small- and medium-sized Hungarian enterprises to be of particular importance. Within our programmes we regularly seek to draw attention to and support the importance and economic significance of process- and organisational innovation. Furthermore, capital- and resource-intensive product- and technological innovation presents a serious opportunity for companies to which we seek to draw attention in a number of forums. With this aim in mind and within the framework of the Innovation Award, in 2009 we established the Organisational Innovation Award - to be presented in the Parliament building in the presence of the Hungarian President – to acknowledge outstanding endeavour and achievement in the field of organisational- and process innovation.
The Foundation has improved its quality policy in order to provide excellent service in the fields of logistics, quality management, environmental management and adult education. We obtained the „Committed to Excellence” charter on 20 November 2009. All the activities of the Foundation are of public benefit. In order to fulfil the requirements of our customers, we continuously develop our services, processes and operational system. We committed ourselves to operate our quality management system according to the EN ISO 9001:2008 standard. The audit, performed by TÜV Rheinland InterCert Kft., proved that the ISO 9001:2008 requirements are fulfilled.(The read the certaficate, click here. )
As an accredited adult education institution, the Public Foundation for the Development of Industry delivers further education courses on a number of topics relating to the development of industry, in addition to organising training courses within the ethos of the ‘knowledge based society’. The organisational units of the Foundation, which although independent are designed to reinforce one other’s activities, operate in three such fields each concentrating on a particularly important segment of the economy. The joint operations of the Logistics Development Centre, the Quality Improvement Centre and the EUPROM Centre provide a uniqueness which, as a unified organisation, enable us to play a significant role in the economic life of the country and thereby to promote the realisation of our non-profit activities.
