The Carbon Disclosure Project is an independent not-for-profit organization holding the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world.
The Carbon Disclosure Project launched in 2000 to accelerate solutions to climate change by putting relevant information at the heart of business, policy and investment decisions. We further this mission by harnessing the collective power of corporations, investors and political leaders to accelerate unified action on climate change.
Some 3,000 organizations in some 60 countries around the world now measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through CDP, in order that they can set reduction targets and make performance improvements. This data is made available for use by a wide audience including institutional investors, corporations, policymakers and their advisors, public sector organizations, government bodies, academics and the public. We operate the only global climate change reporting system.
Climate change is not a problem that exists within national boundaries. That is why we harmonize climate change data from organizations around the world and develop international carbon reporting standards.
We act on behalf of 551 institutional investors, holding US$71 trillion in assets under management and some 60 purchasing organizations such as Cadbury, PepsiCo and Walmart. View our programs to find out more.
Thousands of organizations from across the world’s major economies measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions, water use and climate change strategies through CDP. We put this information at the heart of financial and policy decision-making.
The Public Foundation for the Progress of the Industry (IFKA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UK based Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) to become CDP's regional partner. IFKA will help CDP to encourage companies in Central and Eastern Europe to disclose their carbon emmissions and prepare their strategic plans to handle the risks and opportunities arising due to climate change.
CDP was established to collect data on business risks and opportunities presented by climate change and greenhouse gas emissions in the developed part of the world. It has been very successful since its launch in 2000, has its 7th gathering of information from more than 3000 companies in the USA, Japan, Latin America, Australia, UK, France, Germany and many other EU countries. It is a great opportunity to extend CDP's activities to Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Iparfejlesztési Közalapítvány (IFKA – Public Foundation for the Development of the Industry) with all its assets and infrastructure can be an ideal partner organization to CDP in managing the project in the above mentioned region.
